Airstream-Adventures
At The Dealer
When we bought the trailer it had all the original equipment and
furnishings.  Everything worked.  The wife was none to happy with
the carpet or the upholstery.  The carpet had to go. It was nasty.
The upholstery was typical '70s style.  Apparently that period was a
time of extremely bad taste.  The rear double bed had a double size
4in thick piece of foam for a mattress.  But all in all the unit was
in superb shape.  I have had to tinker with it but that is a labor of
love.  I found that the first tool any Vintage Airstream owner must
buy is a rivet gun.  Here are some pictures of the interior and the
upgrades/changes we have made.
This picture was taken
at the dealership. Note
the carpet and the
mattress on the bed.
This is the 'L' shaped
lounge.  I had no idea
that this was a rarity.
We love it.
Looking toward the front.
Note the 'color' change in
the carpet from the edge to
the center.
The Rear Bedroom
The mattress had to go
first thing.
I haven't seen another
Airstream with this china
cabinet arrangement.
March 2002
Brand new tow vehicle and  new to us Airstream. The TV is a 2001
Ford Excursion with the V-10 engine. The combination is a dream to
drive. I had no idea what I was getting into when we got the Airstream,
however.  When you buy an Airstream you have to buy into the whole
mystique and lifestyle.
